Octave One producers Lawrence Burden and Lenny Burden have collaborated with independent videographers from around the globe, reworking classic material and conceptualizing fresh content drawn from performances in Scotland (Glasgow), Germany (Berlin & Leipzig), North America (Austin, TX), The Netherlands (Eindhoven), Finland (Helsinki), UK (Liverpool) and Austria (Vienna).
With Lawrence on mixers & effects and Lenny on synths & samplers, “Off The Grid” captures the energy of the band’s extraordinary live performances and brings the unique experience home to the fans. The DVD features new and reworked tracks, all the versions are comprised of previously unreleased material. It is the result of the efforts of many talented people (including the other Burden brothers, Lance, Lorne, and Lynell). The DVD is being presented in 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound and features a full length concert film as well as video extras “Blackwater” live with Ann Saunderson (from the 2005 performance at the FuseIn Festival in Detroit), and a special “lost video” for the 1997 classic Octave One track “Black on Black”.
Octave One featuring Random Noise Generation have recorded (for their own 430 West Records) over thirty 12”s and albums in their acclaimed 17 year career in dance music. Their music has been featured in motion pictures (“Groove” released by Sony Pictures), television programs (MTV, VHL1, PBS, BBC, etc.), video games (Rockstars’ “Smugglers Run 2” and “Crave”), and on almost every other form of mass media. Their music has also appeared on over 80 different compilation albums (their first live DVD performance was actually on the Jeff Mills’ DVD Exhibitionist), with millions of sales fueling their most progressive journey.
